After growing up and attending school in York County, Dr. Tomes earned his Bachelorʼs degree from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA with a dual major in Biology and Religious Studies. He went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, receiving Highest Honors for his academic and clinical work. He interned at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, with concentrations in pediatrics, glaucoma and ocular disease. His optometric training also included rotations through the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Philadelphia and the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center. He has practiced Optometry in Central Pennsylvania since 2011. Dr. Tomes performs comprehensive eye examinations on patients of all ages. He has a strong interest in ocular disease and myopia control. He also has tremendous experience in contact lenses, fitting many challenging patients with the latest in astigmatic, bifocal, rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses.
